2007 forum dealing with the proposed contract with AT&T excellent on Sunday and to run again Friday on CAT 18

From Richard Drake's Street Jazz blog:

2007 AT&T forum - the Promise and the Reality?

In early 2007, Fayetteville held a public forum dealing with the proposed contract with AT&T. The forum, which was put together by the Telecomm Board, featured representatives from AT&T, local government, the Telecomm Board, and members of the community.
Many members of the community were contacted for input, when putting together questions for the forum.
Now, when many members of the public seem concerned about AT&T's u-verse - particularly as it relates to PEG programming - it may be time to revisit that forum, and hear the concerns raised by the public, and the responses and reassurances given by those from AT&T.
The forum will be replayed on Community Access Television on Friday (7:30pm).
C.A.T. is shown on Channel 18 of the Cox Channel line-up in Fayetteville
Those outside the Fayetteville viewing area can see the program online at: www.catfayetteville.org
Programs shown on the website are seen at the same time as they are shown on C.A.T.

I watched most of the replay of that old forum last night and Richard is correct about its importance and relevance now.
Thursday's Telecom board meeting agenda includes a brief report on the U-verse situation and public comment will be welcome at 5:30 p.m. in the council chamber at city hall.

The following Tuesday, February 24, a forum sponsored by the Telecom board in the same room begins at 6:30 p.m. with discussion of some residents' complaints to be the focus. Everyone is welcome to attend and speak at these meetings. And both email and telephone access will be provided during the meetings. Also, both meetings are to be available online through the city's Web site. For more information and updates, please use the Fayetteville Government Channel Web log link on the right side of this page.
