FAYETTEVILLE -- Center Street could be repaired and open to traffic in roughly two weeks.
And with dozens of candidates running for public office this fall, homeowners can fill their yards with all the campaign signs they want.
The Fayetteville City Council approved the city to move forward on a $43,315 repair of an drainage structure on Center Street.
The city received quotes from three bidders. Sweetser Construction, was the low-bidder to repair drainage channel after a stone arch collapsed.
The potentially large amount of rain predicted to come into the area in the next couple days will scale back the start time.
"It may be early next week before we can start that construction," said Ron Petrie, the Fayetteville city engineer.
