Free bait for sunfish on oak trees

Some species get more respect than others. The monarch caterpillars seen below are relatively rare and depend on a long migration deep into Mexico and the unpredictability of the weather where they spend the winter to survive to return and give life to future generations.
These plentiful creatures eating oak leaves are far from endangered, unless our oak forests disappear. The interdependence of living things is obvious but not a big part of most people's thinking. That is why so many don't worry about climate change and don't care about nonhuman species.
