Member Benefits

Benefits to Energy Corps members:
All Energy Corps members are enrolled in the AmeriCorps National Service initiative. As members, they will be eligible for the following benefits:
A Modest Living Allowance
Members will receive a modest living allowance.
Money for College
Upon successful completion of your service term, you'll receive an education award that may be used to pay education costs at qualified institutions of higher education or training, or to repay qualified student loans.
Help with Student Loans
If you already have student loans you can use your education award to pay them off. And while you are enrolled in the program, you may be eligible for deferment and forbearance on your student loans. Your lender can tell you for sure. If you're eligible, AmeriCorps will pay for the interest that is accrued on student loans for members who complete their service.
Health Insurance
Once you complete a 30 day waiting period.
Child Care Assistance
Available if you qualify.
Professional training and development

Throughout your term in Energy Corps professional trainings will be provided accordingly. These trainings will be valuable after members' service term as qualification for green collar jobs. Members will also have ample opportunity to develop valuable community building and development skills.
