The fact that the third reading of the Campus Crest petition to the Fayetteville City Council will occur on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, must be made clear as quickly as possible. A Northwest Arkansas Times story based on Tuesday's agenda session did not make that fact clear. There is no guarantee that the Council will vote to table the issue until next month.
The Council must hear the third reading before deciding whether to table. They must vote to table or the issue itself will be up for a final vote on Tuesday.
This has caused confusion for everyone interested in the proposal that could allow multi-story student apartments to be built immediately east of the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
The Morning News has a similar headline on its online version: "Sale Barn Rezoning to be tabled" that should read "Sale Barn Rezoning may be tabled."
