Aubrey, if Lionel-D is so concerned about sustainable initiatives, why, as chair of the Street Committee, has he not implemented sustainable stormwater policy in the design of stormwater and street improvements throughout the city? Why, as chair of that committee, has he accepted the old standard of "biggest pipe" engineering rather than adopting a policy to investigate the alternatives (ie. LID) to traditional engineering in street and stormwater design? If he truly did represent a change to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable community, he would have taken the lead on these issues in the past 8 years, rather than wait to be mayor before he got started. It would appear to me that all of the environmental/sustainable talk that you like so well about Lionel-D is just political pandering. My 2 cents from the other side.
