FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville Mayor Dan Coody could be on his way to third term. He and Fayetteville City Council member Lioneld Jordan were the top two vote-getters in Tuesday’s election.
With all precincts reporting, Coody, received 9,806 votes (37 percent) to Jordan’s 7,380 votes (28 percent). A runoff is set for Nov. 25.
Also in the race was Steve Clark, 61, a former Arkansas attorney general, who received 5,528 votes, (21 percent), Walt Eilers, 64, who received 2,189 votes, (8 percent), Adam Fire Cat, 33, with 919 votes, (4 percent) and Sami Sutton who took in 338 votes, (1 percent).
“Gang, we’re going into a runoff,” a jubilant Jordan shouted to his supporters gathered at the basement of the Urban Table restaurant when he got the call from his campaign team.
“Steve Clark and Walt Eilers, they brought some great ideas to the forefront,” Jordan said. “And there were some ideas there that I don’t want to forget. I have tremendous respect for them.”
“And Adam Fire Cat and Sami Sutton were great. They were great opponents and I think they worked hard,” Jordan said.

Hey Aub, can you get a video copy of Lioneld's interview with KFSM last night? He was so enthusiastic, and I think his supporters would like to see this again on your website!

If you can find a recording of it and try to find someone that can post it on google video, I can post it on my blogs.
TV stations don't make their video available except online on their stations. And chances are they just air the little sound bites they put on TV, which are usually about 1 percent of what they recorded. And seldom the part one wants to see and hear!
