Aspen Ridge/Town Branch Neighborhood meeting dialogue good

Alderman Brenda Thiel (from left), environmental conservationist and Northwest Arkansas Times columnist Fran Alexander, good-government advocate Jim Bemis, Alderman Adella Gray and developer Hank Broyles share a light moment after the Town Branch/Ward I meeting at which neighbors saw a concept drawing for a student-apartment development proposed for the site of the stalled Aspen Ridge Townhome land in south Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Please read about the
Town Branch/Ward One Aspen Ridge in The Northwest Arkansas Times
and watch video of meeting on Cox Cable channel 16 at 9 a.m. and about or slightly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008.

I wasn't able to attend today. Was the presentation as bright as this moment looks to be?
Was it any different than the bright light Broyles originally painted of the Aspen Ridge Townhouses?
Did he tell you to STFU?

It certainly drew out important questions from the crowd of neighbors. Amazing how frustrated many sounded. I live at the far corner of the neighborhood and learned a lot about the situation from talking to other neighbors after the meeting. Sort of a scary situation. I was glad I got an invitation.

My husband and I watched most of the meeting on television today and felt that things weren't quite as cordial at times as your photo indicated!
Some of those neighbors are still angry about what was done by the previous developers, which included Mr. Broyles.
We're going to invite a couple of neighbors over tonight to watch the replay. Someone at Government Channel said it won't start on Channel 16 until about 8 p.m., but is won't be the kind of meeting that will put you to sleep, except the first part where only the developers talked.

I just wanted to point out that Hank Broyles sold his share in the Aspen Ridge project in 2005, before it became a stalled, problematic mess. He re-bought the property less than four months ago, in October 2007.
