The message on this sign reminds me of "Uncle Sam wants You" on the World War II posters!
I doubt that anyone is actually driving past that sign and saying "great, just in time for me!"
I was photographing the less-than-best management practices on the construction site but decided to post only this photo. The photos of disruption of the soil and trees and filling of wetland and narrowing of the stream's riparian zone and floodplain are more depressing than the thought of having to be among the first group of people to graduate from this facility.

Ambrosia trifida feeds many birds in September and October and a few persistent ground-scratchers all winter
Please click on individual images to ENLARGE view of immature and adult male cardinals feeding on Ambrosia trifida in September 2010.
September and October are feasting months for locally fledged birds as well as the hoards of migrating birds that find Ambrosia trifida a special native treat in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The importance of allowing native plants to go to seed and remain standing as "feeders with legs" cannot be overemphasized.

Sounds like something that Fayetteville needs to grab now! OMNI has been working to get one of these low-power FM stations for several years
Local Community Radio Act passes in Congress.
Community radio advocates are celebrating a major victory after the Senate approved the Local Community Radio Act last Saturday, one day after its passage in the House. The bill will open up more of the radio dial for Low Power FM, with the FCC now mandated to license thousands of new stations.

Fayetteville garbage can lies with lid in street for several hours and not crushed
Leaving a garbage container in a street not what is expected of Fayetteville garbage man or of homeowners. Moving this one to the yard probably saved the city some money. It had been lying there for hours before anyone chose to put it up on the grass.
